“Damm” refers to the offering of a complete camel, cow, goat, sheep, or seventh of a camel, cow, or camel calf in sacrifice, as a compensation for certain acts.
They are as follows:
1-Applying fragrance to the entire body or more during the state of Ihram.
2-The ruling for applying fragrant oil is the same as for fragrance. Similarly, the ruling for oil and olive oil is based on the ruling for fragrance. Although they may not have a fragrance, using them for eating, putting them in the nostrils, or applying them to wounds does not incur a penalty.
3-Pure fragrances such as musk, saffron, cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon, if ingested to the extent that they spread throughout most parts of the mouth.
4-Fragrance added to food while cooking, and its components predominate in the food.
5-Applying a thin layer of henna on the head so that the hair is not hidden. If a thick layer of henna is applied, and it remains on for the whole day or night, then for a man, two penalties are necessary, and for a woman, one penalty is necessary under all circumstances.
6-Applying henna(Mehndi) to the beard.
7-Applying henna(Mehndi) to the entire palm or sole.
8-Wearing stitched clothing for the entire day or night in the state of Ihram necessitates a penalty. If worn continuously for several days, a penalty is still necessary.
9-Similarly, wearing socks continuously for four quarters of a day.
10-Removing hair from the head or beard by any means necessitates a penalty.
11-Cleaning all the hair from the entire neck and one armpit has the same ruling as cleaning the area below the navel.
12-Trimming the nails of one hand or foot or cutting twenty nails simultaneously.
13-Engaging in intimate acts, such as kissing and caressing with desire, and ejaculating before performing Tawaf Ziyarah necessitates a penalty.
14-If intercourse occurs before the Wuquf at Arafat during Hajj, the Hajj becomes invalid. In this case, the individual must complete the Hajj, pay the penalty, and make up for it in the following year.
15-Engaging in intercourse after the Wuquf at Arafat and shaving the head necessitates a penalty.
16-If intercourse occurs before the four circuits (Tawaf) of Umrah, the individual should complete the Umrah, pay the penalty, and make it up later. If it happens after the four circuits, the individual should pay the penalty, and the Umrah is valid.
17-If someone performs intercourse before shaving their head during Umrah, they must pay a penalty.
18-If someone performs intercourse before the Tawaf of Hajj while intending to perform Hajj, both the Hajj and Umrah become invalid. However, they must complete all the rituals, pay two penalties, and perform Hajj and Umrah in the following year. If the Tawaf of Umrah has already been completed, and intercourse occurs before the Wuquf at Arafat during Hajj, Umrah remains valid. Hajj becomes invalid, and they must pay two penalties and make up for the missed Hajj in the following year. If intercourse occurs after the Wuquf at Arafat, neither Hajj nor Umrah becomes invalid. They must pay one penalty and offer a sacrifice of a sheep or a goat besides the two penalties.
19-Entering the boundaries of the Haram without Ihram, but then returning to Miqat and wearing Ihram will nullify the penalty.
20-Performing a complete or most of the Tawaf Ziyarah without ablution necessitates a penalty, and repeating the Tawaf will nullify the penalty.
21-Performing a complete or most of the Tawaf Umrah in a state of menstruation or postnatal bleeding or without ablution.
22-Leaving out most of the Tawaf Qudum or Tawaf Wida or completely abandoning Tawaf Wida necessitates a penalty. However, if a woman in menstruation performs Tawaf Wida, it becomes invalid, and completely abandoning Tawaf Qudum is disliked but does not require a penalty.
23-Leaving out the complete or most of the Sa’i without excuse or performing it while riding necessitates a penalty, while repeating it on foot will nullify the penalty.
24-Leaving Arafat before sunset and returning after sunset necessitates a penalty.
25-Not performing Wuquf in Muzdalifah on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah without excuse.
26-Not throwing stones on any day or leaving out the complete or most of the stones on any day.
27-Shaving the head or performing Rami before the appropriate time or the sacrificer and the one being sacrificed shaving the head before Rami or both of them performing Rami before the sacrifice.
28-Delaying the head shaving to the extent that the day of sacrifice passes.
29-Delaying the Tawaf Ziyarah.
